मेरा मानना है नहीं निकाला जा सकता है क्योंकि हिंदुस्तान का निर्माण ही धर्म के आधार पर हुआ है, बंटवारा इसका उदाहरण है। हमारे ओरिजनल संविधान की नींव भी धर्म आधारित थी लेकिन कुछ लोगों की महत्वाकांक्षा, ध्रुवीकरण व तुष्टिकरण की राजनीति के कारण आज हिन्दुस्तान की राजनीति बहुत जटिल हो गई है। मेरा मानना है कि हिन्दुस्तान को सेक्युलर देश नहीं होना चाहिए था और शायद हमारी पहली संविधान सभा का भी यही मत था तभी उस सभा ने सर्वसम्मति से सेक्युलर शब्द को संविधान में शामिल नहीं किया था लेकिन अफसोस 1975–76 में इमरजेंसी लगाकर पूरे विपक्ष, मीडिया को जेलों में कैद करके देश पर जबरन सेक्युलर शब्द थोप दिया गया और लिबरल के टी शाह की सिफारिश पर आधे से ज्यादा संविधान को बदल दिया गया। यहां ध्यान देने वाली बात ये भी है कि जब पहली संविधान सभा ने सेक्युलर प्रस्ताव रद्द किया था तो उसके पीछे एक तर्क ये भी था कि अगर हम देश को धर्म निरपेक्ष मानते हैं तो फिर जातिगत आरक्षण की अवधारणा क्यों?सभा के सदस्यों के सामने ये एक जटिल समस्या थी क्योंकि अगर सेक्युलर बनाया तो आरक्षण का विचार बदलना पड़ेगा जिससे उस समय की एक बहुत बड़
